Everything you need to know about using your PMOBILE service overseas — roaming is on by default.

Step 1

Before you fly

International Roaming is enabled on your PMOBILE plan by default. You just need to switch on Data Roaming in your local mobile device settings before you travel.

Step 2

When you arrive

As soon as you land, you'll receive a Welcome SMS with options to purchase a roaming pack. If you don't want to add a pack, simply ignore the SMS and no roaming charges will apply.

To add a pack, while travelling abroad send an SMS with the datapack code to 179. Example: text ROAM5 to 179 to activate the 5GB Travel Pack. You'll get a confirmation SMS once it's live.

Check remaining usage by texting bal to 179.

Wi-Fi Calling works without roaming

As long as Wi-Fi Calling is enabled in your local device settings, you can make and receive calls over hotel or café Wi-Fi even if roaming isn't connected.

Support hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM AEST (excluding public holidays).

Roaming FAQs

International roaming is enabled on your PMOBILE plan by default, so there's nothing to activate on our end. Before you fly, just make sure Data Roaming is turned on in your device settings. If you'd prefer roaming disabled on your account (or on specific SIMs), email support@pconnect.com.au and we'll opt you out.

Once you arrive in a supported country, you'll receive a Welcome SMS with the available packs. Reply with the pack code (e.g. ROAM5) to 179. You'll get a confirmation SMS once the pack is active. No pack? No roaming charges will apply — simply ignore the Welcome SMS.

Text bal to 179 at any time. You'll receive an SMS back showing what's left on your active roaming pack.

Yes. With roaming enabled, you can make and receive calls. Incoming calls are covered by the minutes in your roaming pack (if you have one active). Callers from Australia dial your number as normal.

Yes — Wi-Fi Calling works without International Roaming, as long as you have it enabled in your device settings. It's a good backup if you're having roaming issues or want to keep costs down.

Your phone will automatically reconnect to the Telstra Wholesale network when you land. No action needed.

No. International Roaming is not available on data-only SIM plans.

Roaming is only available in the countries listed above. Russia is no longer supported. If you're travelling somewhere not listed, email support@pconnect.com.au before you fly so we can advise options.
